Drift Ghost XL Camera - Black

Over the last 10 months or so between my wife and I we’ve spent in excess of £2000 at get geared helmets, leathers, action cameras, visor cleaner, waterproofs, heated grips etc we’ve had a lot and ever time the service is outstanding! You tell me of another online company that would pick the phone up to double check the size ordered! Fast delivery, great prices and fantastic customer service!! What more could you want.

What I like about this camera is the ease of use - you grab it, attach to your helmet, and if you set it up that way, press the on button to start recording.
Now, the setup is its low point, as it’s very difficult to connect it to the phone. Like sometimes it works, sometimes my iPhone just doesn’t see its AP in the network’s choice. The app, Drift Life, is rather poor and you need to go through the connection setup each time you open it. As I use it to record the commute, I don’t bother with it anymore and simply copy over the content of the SD card to my laptop.
Quality wise, it’s good during the day, but sketchy at night. It’s only HD and the PRO 4K version is really overpriced. You can clearly see registration plates.
There’s no image stabilisation but it doesn’t seem to matter if you attach the camera to the helmet (attaching to the handlebars would be another story).
If you wanted a camera to blog or create videos, get a GoPro knockoff with 4K, image stabilisation and 60fps! If you want a handy, helmet mounted camera to record your commute or trips for safety reasons, but Ghost XL, as it’s worth it. Just remember, that if mounted on your helmet, it will record your speedo :) and get an external microphone or set the built-in one at minimum sensitivity.
