D Hips:
Measure around the widest part of your hips and bum.
E Outside leg:
Biking trousers are designed to sit slightly higher than everyday trousers.
Find a comfortable point above the waistband of a normal pair of trousers (closer to your actual waist - see point C on the diagram).
Without bending, measure from thispoint over your hip bone right down to the bottom of your feet (remember to make an allowance for boots or shoes).

There's CE level 1 protection at the knees as well as the hips: it's quite uncommon for the hips to be included so this is awesome!
Why buy these? For the price, these trousers are a winner. Not only are they waterproof but there's also clever details like the positioning of the vent zips which will keep you cooler on warmer rides. The waterproofing will do the trick for light showers and if you're caught out, but do bear in mind it is still softshell so for something which will stand up to heavy showers; you may want to consider a standard textile material.
